Trump Offers UFC Chief Dana White the Press Secretary Job

1 min read

President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he has offered the White House press secretary job to Dana White, chief executive of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Trump made the offer in a post on Truth Social, writing that White had been offered the job of press secretary of the United States and urging him to take it. He also asked White to bring six fighters with him as assistants: Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison.

White has not accepted the job. A source familiar with the matter told CNN that White declined the offer, and one aide told the network that Trump was joking. White deflected questions about the offer at a news conference in London on Saturday, saying only that he planned to fly to Washington to meet Trump on Monday.

The post has been open since Karoline Leavitt left in August. Katie Zacharia held the role for five days, the shortest stint in the job’s history, before Trump fired her.

White reposted Trump’s message on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself standing behind the White House briefing room podium.
