Sir Rod Stewart celebrated double the good news recently, welcoming not just one but two grandkids after his son and daughter both welcomed children in the same week.
Adorable photos show the iconic music star holding his new grandkids for the first time.
Stewart’s daughter Ruby, a 35-year-old fashion designer, announced in January that she was expecting her first child with fiance Jake Kalic. Rod, now 78, was very excited to learn he was going to be a grandpa for the second time, and even helped reveal the gender.
“It’s a boy. Born a Celtic!” Rod said, referring to his favorite soccer team. He then sang a “custom jingle,” his daughter wrote in an Instagram caption.
Ruby’s baby, Otis Stewart Kalick, was born on May 9.
I can’t remember what life was like before you… But nothing else matters now that you’re here,” Ruby wrote in a sweet Instagram caption. “Your arrival into the world marks the beginning of our family.”
But that wasn’t the only great news in the Stewart family this week: just days after little Otis was born, Rod welcomed another grandchild.
Stewart’s son Liam, a 28-year-old professional hockey player, welcomed his first child, Louie Mark Roderick Stewart (the Roderick in honor of his famous granddad), on May 12. Liam’s Instagram post describes the baby as “American, British, Croatian, Kiwi.”
It was definitely a memorable week for the Grammy-winning music superstar, welcoming his second and third grandchildren.
Adorable photos shared on Instagram show the “Maggie May” singer holding each of his newborn grandkids, calling himself a “happy granddad.”
Ruby also shared a photo of Rod holding Otis:
Rod Stewart is the father of eight children, by five mothers. He has been married to his third wife, Penny Lancaster, since 2007. They have two children together.
Congratulations to Rod Stewart on becoming a grandpa again, twice in one week! The newborns are adorable and it’s sweet to see them with their famous rocker grandpa!
