Eric Bauza, the Emmy Award-winning voice actor behind the modern voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and a host of other Looney Tunes characters, has died at 46. His family announced his sudden death on Sunday, October 25, in a statement posted to his official Instagram account.
Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records cited by Variety list hypertensive cardiovascular disease as the cause of death. Bauza died at his home in Los Angeles, according to the records.
Bauza spent 15 years with Warner Bros. Animation and became one of the most familiar voices in American cartoons. Alongside Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, his credits included Tweety, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd and Foghorn Leghorn. He also voiced Puss in Boots in The Adventures of Puss in Boots and took roles in Teen Titans Go! and Muppet Babies.

His work earned him three Children’s and Family Emmy Awards, for Looney Tunes Cartoons, Bugs Bunny Builders and Teen Titans Go! This year he voiced nearly a dozen characters in Coyote vs. Acme, the long-shelved film that finally reached cinemas in 2026.
Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group, said in a statement that Bauza was “a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions around the world” and praised his role in carrying on the legacy of Mel Blanc, who originated many of the characters Bauza later voiced.
