President Donald Trump campaigned in Corinth, Mississippi, on Monday night, Oct. 26, for Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith. The rally at Crossroads Arena came eight days before the Nov. 3 midterm election.
Hyde-Smith is seeking a second full term against Democrat Scott Colom, a district attorney in northern Mississippi, and independent Ty Pinkins.
Trump told the crowd: “I’m here because Cindy’s doing great, but I just have to make sure. Cindy’s going to win big.”

Trump won Mississippi by about 23 points in 2024, and no Democrat has won a Mississippi Senate seat since 1982. The race has still drawn national attention, with Colom drawing backing from former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
During the speech, which lasted more than an hour and a half, Trump also promised $5,000 checks for all adult citizens if Republicans win majorities in both chambers, the Clarion Ledger reported. He said the measure would cost $1 trillion, and experts have debated its legality.
Trump also pointed to his administration’s crime policies, citing National Guard deployments in Memphis, and urged Mississippians to vote.
