Netflix has renewed The Diplomat for a fifth season, the streamer announced on Thursday, October 29.
The renewal came two weeks after the eight-episode fourth season arrived on October 15. Season four ended on a cliffhanger at a G7 summit in Italy, where Ambassador Kate Wyler, played by Keri Russell, resigned from her post. Her husband, Vice President Hal Wyler, played by Rufus Sewell, followed her out.
Netflix has not announced a premiere date or plot details for season five. The streamer pointed to strong viewing for season four, which opened with 4.8 million views in its first week, according to Deadline, and reached No. 3 on Netflix’s global top 10 in its second week.

All four seasons of The Diplomat are available to stream on Netflix now.
