Pregnancy is one of life’s most magical phases, but there can also be challenges.
Whether you are pregnant or care about someone who is, worry and anxiousness are constant companions.
Perhaps the same applies to animals as well!
This golden retriever was lucky because she was with several animal lovers who made sure everything went smoothly after she wound up on the street.
Rosie, the golden retriever, was pregnant and had a large stomach when she arrived at Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue. The kind golden retriever/mix was saved in time to receive the care she required, which made the volunteers happy.
Before the big day, Rosie was taken into the house of dog lovers Katie and John Black.
The pair has fostered more than 20 pets since they first began.
This time, they were anticipating meeting the puppies inside Rosie.
Rosie was so large that the couple expected a sizable litter. But they weren’t prepared for what would transpire when Rosie was ready to give birth. Nothing like it has ever been seen before!
Rosie gave birth to four gorgeous, healthy puppies, but they didn’t resemble their mother.
“Not quite what we had anticipated. Yesterday, our foster dog and golden mix had birth.” Katie penned on Reddit.
The golden retriever puppies turned out to be less golden than you would have anticipated. They more closely resembled cows!
The puppies had black or brown patches on their white coats.
Everyone viewed the puppies as the oddest sight they had ever seen. Rosie and John, though, didn’t miss a beat.
Katie remarks, “She is one proud mother.”
Katie and John gave the puppies traditional “cow names,” such as Daisy, Betsy, Clarabelle, and Moo, because they resembled a herd of miniature cattle.
Even though they are unsure of the father’s identity, Katie and John are certain that he is not a golden retriever.
For now, Rosie’s puppies are being cared for by Katie and John. When the puppies are old enough, their mother and they will both be offered for adoption.
While everything is going on, Katie and John enjoy themselves immensely with the puppies.
It’s not as odd as you may imagine for a dog to have puppies that look extremely different from them. And specifically, mixed breeds frequently produce unique mixes and colors.
According to Pets4Homes, “There is a lot more room for variation when it comes to non-pedigree dogs, mixed breeds, and deliberate crossings of two breeds or the subsequent offspring of mixed crossings—like the Labradoodle and Cockapoo—to the point that the color or other manifestations of physical appearance can be quite variable within the same litter.
So now the riddle is clear!
