Cindy Crawford broke her silence Sunday on the death of her son, Presley Gerber, posting a family statement signed by her, her husband Rande Gerber, and their daughter Kaia.
“We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother,” the statement began. It remembered Presley as “a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever,” and thanked supporters for their “outpouring of love.”
Kaia Gerber posted her own tribute minutes later: a childhood home video of the two dancing together, with a long message that ended, “i do adore you. i love my brother. my brother is dead. and this party sucks so bad without you, prez.”
Presley Gerber, the family’s eldest child, died Sept. 20 at a Santa Monica rehab facility. He was 27. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has completed the autopsy, with the official cause of death deferred pending further investigation.
The family had asked for privacy when his death was first confirmed last month.
