Hi, what are you looking for?

A dying woman says her final goodbye to her parrot, and the bird’s immediate reaction has us in tears.

Parrots are intelligent animals that can replicate human speech and behavior. They also build close ties with their owners and can provide years of companionship.

One woman captured an emotional scene of her dying mother with her pet parrot. She said her goodbyes and spent her final moments with her feathered companion. Since then, the video has gone viral, causing many people to cry.

In 2017, a YouTube video became viral. It portrayed Sinbad, an African Grey parrot, sitting quietly on his owner’s arm. It wasn’t your typical day, and Sinbad understood why.

His owner, who had been his companion for 25 years, was dying. A woman, possibly the dying mother’s daughter, brought Sinbad to her hospital bed so they could say their final goodbyes.

Parrots have been known to pinch their owners’ fingers occasionally, but Sinbad was exceptionally kind. Especially now, in his friend’s last hours. He’s sitting quietly on his owner’s arm, not making a sound. Sinbad went carefully upon the woman’s tummy because she could not move. Sinbad waited for her to say goodbye as she glanced blankly at the horizon.

The woman’s daughter was shooting the situation, capturing this lovely yet terrible moment. “Is there anything you want to say?” she questioned her mother between sniffs of tears.

She then speaks with Sinbad, who looks at her while listening. “Are you going to be okay?” she inquired of Sinbad. She later recognized his emotions. “He’s so depressed,” she told her mother. “He’s right there at your chest, walking up.” After a few moments, the daughter asks her mother, “Are you going to say hello to him?”

The dying woman summons the strength to glance at her beloved feathered companion. She and Sinbad had a special relationship. She mumbles due to fatigue, but you can hear her tell Sinbad, “I love you.” Sinbad, the parrot, acknowledges her remarks by nodding and putting his foot on her breast. He almost appeared to be taking his final bow.

African Grey parrots are well-known for their intellect and ability to mimic human speech. They have the cognitive ability of a five-year-old child, making them one of the most intellectual bird species. African Greys are keen observers of human behavior.

So much so that they can recognize their owner’s facial expressions, voice tones, and even emotions. As a result, African Greys form close bonds with their owners and promise lifetime companionship. For example, an African Grey parrot has an average lifespan of 40 to 80 years.

Parrots exhibit emotional depth in addition to intelligence. They don’t just tolerate their masters; they adore them. Of course, they must be adequately treated. When their owner is ill, they know; when they die, they genuinely mourn.

This can be noticed in observable behavior, such as refraining from eating or vocalizing. They merely want a buddy with whom they can bond, someone who will give them the attention they require and deserve.
