After hearing the news, his wife, Micheline Roquebrune, burst into tears as she remembered her “beautiful model of a man.”
“He was stunning, and we had a fantastic life together,” she claimed. “He was a man’s model.” I know it’s going to be difficult without him. But it couldn’t last forever, and he died quietly.”
Connery died due to heart failure caused by pneumonia and old age. Dementia exacerbated his demise in his latter years.
“At least he died in his sleep, and it was so peaceful,” she said. I was with him the entire time, then he just vanished. It was just what he desired. He got his final request granted without a hitch.”

Connery returned to Ireland in response to his last plea.”We are bringing Sean back to Scotland – that was his final wish,” his wife Micheline Roquebrune told the Scottish Mail, adding that “he wanted his ashes to be scattered in the Bahamas as well as in his homeland.”
