Jennifer Aniston “Regrets” Making Her First Big Purchase With Friends’ Money

Jennifer Aniston appears to have no trouble reflecting on her Friends days, whether through emotional cast reunions or legendary scene recreations. The actress has revealed what she purchased with her first Friends paycheck – the most Rachel Green ever bought.

During an interview with PopSugar in April 2023, the actor recounted her “first big splurge” after debuting on the successful ’90s comedy was a “Mercedes that had a for sale sign on it for almost two years.” “There was a little white 280 SL Mercedes there for a long time,” Aniston added. It may have taken more than two years. And I was continually saying to myself, ‘I can’t wait, someday, someday.’ And so I bought it one day.”

However, the actor’s dream car fell short of her aspirations. “And then I drove it again and again.” “It never drove again,” she said. “It was a lemon, which is why it sat there.” And I had no choice but to get it looked out since I didn’t know any better… so it was a wonderful 25-year-old blunder.”

Fans of the actor’s Friends quickly remarked on his salary regret, with one TikTok user calling the purchase “such a Rachel Green thing to do.” Meanwhile, another admirer stated, “The fact that it had been sitting there for two years should have been a red flag.”

Although it was not the best financial decision, Aniston more than made up for it with a high Friends contract, which was a whopping $1 million for each episode for the show’s final two seasons.

Even though Friends ended in 2004, Aniston and her former Friends co-stars continue to earn millions from the show each year. According to USA Today, Warner Brothers makes $1 billion yearly from the series through syndication rights. Each celebrity receives only 2% of that total, which may seem insignificant, but adds up to $20 million per cast member yearly.
