Hi, what are you looking for?

Joanna Gaines is recuperating at home following spine surgery to ease back discomfort.

If you appreciate reality television, interior design, and renovation projects, you’ll probably enjoy Fixer Upper. The Chip and Joanna Gaines-led show earned a considerable audience throughout the course of its five seasons on the air.

The couple, who have five children together, received their first Emmy nomination for outstanding structured reality program earlier this year. The Gaines, who also oversee the popular reality show, also launched their own network, Magnolia, which debuted on cable in early 2022.

Because of a streaming partnership with HBO Max, the network’s episodes are already available on Discovery+.

Joanna recently posted photos of herself in a hospital bed, wearing sunglasses, and holding a peace sign. When the reality star announced that this was her second microdiscectomy, her fans became concerned for her health.

“I’ve had a back problem since high school cheerleading—basically, a basket toss turned into a back injury.”

“When I had my first microdisectomy in 2001, I had to reschedule my second appointment with Chip Carter Gaines. I had the identical procedure done on a separate disc two weeks ago.”

“I’ve always joked that my back acts up at the most inconvenient times, so the timing of everything around the holiday season worried me.”

“However, I am grateful for the forced rest I received at the busiest season of the year. It has been a blessing simply to be immobile, marveling at the wonder all around, and remaining still.”

“I wish you and your family a pleasant Christmas season. Even if things don’t go precisely as planned, may you be able to appreciate the wonder and beauty of the current moment.”

This type of spine surgery is commonly used to treat a herniated disk, which impinges on a spinal nerve and causes pain in the patient.

Joanna underwent her first surgery of this type in 2001, following a back injury in high school.

“I’ve always joked that my back likes to act up at the most inconvenient times, and I was a little anxious because it all happened around the holiday season,” she posted on Instagram.

Due to her operation, she would be compelled to experience a different type of holiday this time.

“However, I’m grateful for the forced respite during the busiest time of year. “It has been a pleasure to simply stay put, marvel at the wonder all about, and just be still,” she wrote, thanking her fans. “Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas week. “It may not everything go as planned, but may you find the beauty and embrace the wonder of the here and now,” she wrote, adding that she is remaining optimistic.

Joanna Gaines’ memoir The Stories We Tell: Every Piece of Your Story Matters was released in November.

We wish her a speedy recovery.
