Love-filled neighbors teach sign language to a deaf youngster

This kind gesture from several neighbors in a community for a toddler who is deaf will melt your heart.

Samantha Savitz is a young child who is deaf but has not let that stop her from connecting with others. Many people’s hearts were touched by this tiny angel’s attempts to connect, and she also got much in return.

Glenda, Sam’s mother, claims that anytime Sam meets someone who can interact with her, her demeanor changes. Although not everyone can engage with her, the Newton, Massachusetts, neighborhood did something that will fundamentally alter Sam’s life.

Sam initially displays her yearning for connection while she and her family are out on a stroll around the neighborhood, waving and using sign language to interact with those they pass. People in the neighborhood couldn’t comprehend the toddler at the time, but they thought she was really cute and wanted to play with her.

The Newton neighborhood wanted to assist the youngster and requested Glenda’s permission to contact Sam’s teacher in American Sign Language. The Savitzes were amazed by their neighbor’s deeds and loved their great love for little Sam.

Twenty people signed up for the ASL lesson at first, but as word of the good news spread, another group of 40 neighbors also decided to help the young girl’s life. As a result of the sessions and the generosity of her neighbors, Sam now feels more comfortable navigating the neighborhood and interacting with those who live nearby.
