Hi, what are you looking for?

Pitbull approaches a wailing toddler while unrestrained, and the owner later learns the terrible reason why.

One of the most misunderstood canine breeds in the world is probably the pit bull. They have not significantly benefited from their notoriety. People often connect pit bulls with aggression and violence, but as with all dog breeds, it depends on the owner and how the dog is raised.

Just like kids, dogs need solid training. Pit bulls may be bigger than many dogs and may have stronger bites, but they can also be trained to behave nicely and kindly. Although they may appear frightening, I believe it is safe to state that we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. Many pit bulls enjoy spending time with dogs.

Hurley, a courageous and astute pit bull that went above and beyond to protect a young boy from a snake, is one of these dogs.

Sister of the owner of Stacie Rae English Hurley. She was so moved by what had occurred that day that she posted about it on Facebook. She posted the following:

“Around 10 p.m., my brother walked Hurley, his pit bull lab mix, in our neighborhood field. He takes him for a stroll at this hour so he can let him off the leash and do what he enjoys, which is discovering all the different smells. Before my brother could react, Hurley ran off toward the child’s scream once they heard it.

“With my brother following closely, he witnessed Hurley snatch a copper-headed snake away from the young boy and hurl it around. Hurley afterward realized he had killed the snake.

The young child dashed to his mother’s car and left so quickly that my brother could not learn anything about him. My brother then called animal control, and the Highland Village Police arrived to investigate the scene (we assume he was bitten because they left so quickly).

Stacie Rae continues:

They requested a look at Hurley to determine whether he had been bitten. He was bleeding, had a swollen neck, and was foaming at the mouth, which surprised my brother. They did indeed discover two puncture marks on his top lip. After Shelby took him there, Hurley spent the night at Denton Animal Emergency Hospital so they could keep an eye on his capacity to clot blood during the night.

Hurley and Shelby arrived home this morning. Hurley is doing much better this morning, but he still seems a little uneasy due to his enlarged face and neck, according to Stacie Ray.

Talk about being on the verge! Hurley, excellent job!

The sister concludes by writing:

“It was eventually determined that the young child had come into a nest of copperheads, and presumably Hurley saved him from being bitten, if not from being bitten again. We are still looking for the young youngster and checking on his welfare. This is our brave pit bull. I want the people who judge his breed to hear about his story.

Doesn’t this show that not all pit bulls are bad? They might even save your life in some circumstances. To recognize Hurley’s outstanding bravery, kindly share!
