Ray Liotta’s cause of death has been made public almost nine months after his untimely passing.
Liotta passed away while filming a new movie in the Dominican Republic. The official cause of death for Liotta is now being disclosed by Dominican authorities.
TMZ reports that Liotta’s death was ruled “natural and nonviolent.” In addition, the docs list “respiratory insufficiency, pulmonary edema,” which indicates that Liotta had “fluid in his lungs and acute heart failure.”
Additionally, it was determined that Liotta had atherosclerosis, which is defined as “the thickening of the arteries brought on by a buildup of plaque in the inner lining.”
The actor passed away while he was asleep. According to reports, he was dating Jacy Nittolo, his nearly two-year fiancée. Over Christmas 2020, the couple were engaged. At the time of his death, he was 67 years old.
Karsen Liotta made her first statement a few days after her father’s sudden death.
A quick glance at Liotta’s Instagram account made it abundantly evident that his family came first for the actor. But becoming a parent to Karsen, his daughter, was more significant than anything else.
At the age of 24, Karsen is continuing her father’s acting career. Following her father’s loss, she recently posted a brief statement on Instagram.
Alongside a photo of Karsen and Ray when Karsen was just a little girl, she wrote, “Those who knew him loved him. You are the best Dad anyone could ask for. I love you. Thank you for everything.”
Several people took to the comments section to offer their condolences to Karsen. Ryan Dorsey, who shared a child with the late Naya Rivera, is included in that list.
“Thinking of you, sweet angel,” another commenter added. “Sending you and your family all my love.”
Their social media accounts have revealed that the father-daughter duo was two peas in a pod. The father and daughter have worked opposite of each other several times in the past.
Karsen is best known for her roles in Hubie Halloween, Prettyface, and Shades of Blue, where her father starred alongside Jennifer Lopez. Karsen played Anna Kate Wozniak in four episodes of the successful series.
On his Instagram page, Ray often humbly bragged about his little girl, sharing several photos of them in scenes together or on the red carpet.
“My daughter and I just before we left for the #SAGAwards last year. Her career is starting to take off, and she’s not even out of high school yet,” Liotta proudly wrote. “I won’t go all Dad on you, but I’m very proud of her. Our job as parents, aside from loving them to death, is to prepare them to go out confidently in the world. I can say I succeeded. If this were paper, you’d see a teardrop.”
Initial reports said authorities do not expect foul play. However, his official cause of death has not been revealed. Our prayers are with her during this difficult time.
