Russell Crowe’s 16-month-old puppy was hit by a truck.

Russell Crowe, the actor, has disclosed the tragic demise of his pet dog Louis.

The 58-year-old actor said the 16-month-old puppy was hit by a truck and died in his arms.

“This is Louis, a 16-month-old Papillion. Tiny, cheeky, and courageous.” Crowe tweeted on Thursday, “He won my heart.”

“Unfortunately, on the second anniversary of my father’s death, Louis was hit by a truck today.”

“We tried to take him to the vet, but he died in my arms as I told him how much we loved him.”

He posted a cute snapshot of Louis looking up at the camera.

“I am so sorry, Louis and Russell,” wrote one commenter.

“It’s so heartbreaking to lose a pet,” a second person commented.

“I am truly sorry! What a lovely face and eyes. I like to think our pets are waiting for us to join them one day,” said another.

John, the actor’s father, died aboard a Qantaslink aircraft in March 2021 at 85.

“They performed CPR on him for who knows how long… “Probably 18 to 20 minutes,” said fellow traveler Andrew Fraser then.

“They worked tirelessly and even after the plane landed.”

Crowe broke the news on Twitter, writing, “My dear old man, my beautiful Dad, the gentlest of men, has passed away.”

“I’m posting this because I know there are people all over the world whose (sic) hearts he touched and ribs he tickled with his sparkly eyes and cheeky attitude toward everyone and everything, and this is probably the most efficient way to spread the word.”

“John Alexander Crowe, March 13, 1936 — March 30, 2021.”

“I was born in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand.” He died in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, where he had lived for 25 years.

May he rest in peace.
