Selena Gomez has told fans that years of vaping nicotine changed her voice permanently.
In a candid video on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, the singer, 34, said: “I’m not going to be able to change my voice. I vaped nicotine a lot.” She called quitting “so hard” and urged anyone thinking of starting: “It’s just not worth it.”

She added that she has stopped vaping and hopes to keep it up, telling followers: “If you are going through something, you can get through it too.”
Gomez had addressed fan speculation about her voice before. In a December 2025 livestream she said her throat swelled from the inside at times; she has also spoken about living with lupus, which can cause inflammation of the larynx.
