President Donald Trump’s political operation spent about $277 million between early September and mid-October to support Republican candidates in the midterm elections, according to Federal Election Commission filings reported by Bloomberg Government. The spending, unheard of for a term-limited president, has given Republicans a financial edge as the party fights to keep full control of Congress.
The money moved through MAGA Inc., Trump’s main super PAC, which also raised another $25 million during the period. The filings show big checks from casino magnate Stephen Wynn, Blackstone’s Stephen Schwarzman and billionaire Diane Hendricks, among others.

Since launching two days after Trump won his second term, MAGA Inc. has raised $449 million, a total Bloomberg Government called unprecedented for a second-term president. The wider picture shows the same imbalance: Republicans and three affiliated super PACs have raised $2.1 billion altogether, against $1.3 billion raised by Democrats and their allied groups.
