The pro-Israel lobbying group AIPAC will stop endorsing political candidates, making direct contributions through its political action committee, and earmarking donations, according to a letter its leadership sent to members this week.
The group’s super PAC, the United Democracy Project, will remain active, the letter said. AIPAC plans to shift its focus toward organizing individual donors to give directly to candidates and toward new fundraising tools.

The change follows three election cycles in which AIPAC’s PAC, super PAC and donor network channeled hundreds of millions of dollars into US races. Since entering elections directly in 2022, the group became a major force in congressional contests, particularly Democratic primaries, even as its brand grew more contentious, according to reports.
AIPAC’s leaders framed the move as a strategy shift. “Endorsements, direct PAC contributions, and earmarking will no longer be part of our approach so we can expand individual giving and utilize new tools to help our friends win,” the letter said.
