HBO has filled out the supernatural side of Hogwarts. The network confirmed five new cast members for its Harry Potter series on Friday: the house ghosts, the Fat Lady, and the voice of the Sorting Hat.
Leo Bill will play Nearly Headless Nick, the Gryffindor ghost. Andrew Brooke takes the Bloody Baron of Slytherin, and Daniel Fearn plays the Hufflepuff ghost, the Fat Friar. Laura Smyth plays the Fat Lady, the portrait guarding the entrance to the Gryffindor common room. David Threlfall voices the Sorting Hat.

The new arrivals join a cast led by Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, with John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
The announcement also adds to a supernatural cast that already includes Peter Serafinowicz as Peeves the Poltergeist, a character cut from the films. The first season, adapting Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is set to premiere on HBO and HBO Max at Christmas, according to reports.
