UFC chief Dana White has turned down President Donald Trump’s offer to become White House press secretary, CNN reported on Saturday, citing a source familiar with the matter.
Trump announced the offer himself on Truth Social earlier the same day. He called White “a violent Fighter and Warrior” and asked him to bring six UFC fighters along as assistants: Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison.

A White House aide told CNN the president was joking about the proposal. Communications director Steven Cheung took a different tone, reposting Trump’s message with the words: “Hell yeah! Do it, @DanaWhite!”
White sidestepped the question at a news conference in London on Saturday, where he was attending a boxing event. He said only that he plans to fly to Washington to meet Trump on Monday.
The press secretary job has sat vacant since mid-October. CNN said it has asked the White House and the UFC for comment.
