The search for the next James Bond is entering its final round. Amazon MGM Studios will hold screen tests for four finalists starting Friday, October 23, according to Deadline.
Three of the actors expected to test are Jack Lowden, best known for Slow Horses; Callum Turner, who starred in Masters of the Air; and Josh O’Connor, who played Prince Charles in The Crown. The identity of the fourth tester has not been reported.
The tests were originally scheduled for earlier in October but were pushed back because of scheduling conflicts among the finalists, so all four could test in the same window. The Hollywood Reporter separately noted that Jacob Elordi and Jack O’Connell, two long-rumoured names, are not among those testing.
Denis Villeneuve is directing the reboot, the first Bond film under Amazon MGM’s full creative control, with Steven Knight writing the script. Producer Amy Pascal has said a casting announcement by the end of the year is “a good bet.”
Amazon declined to comment on the casting process, Radio Times reported.
