Border czar Tom Homan said Saturday that Representative Ilhan Omar could be stripped of her U.S. citizenship and deported if federal investigators find she committed immigration fraud. Asked on Fox News’ “The Big Weekend Show” whether the probe could end with denaturalization and deportation, Homan answered: “Of course.”
“If you lie during the naturalization process, there is a process to denaturalize somebody. We’ve done it before,” Homan said.

The comments were the first by a named senior Trump administration official explicitly linking denaturalization and deportation to Omar. They came days after federal agents searched the Minnesota congresswoman’s home on October 12, seizing her phone and issuing more than a dozen subpoenas, according to the Guardian.
Investigators are examining whether Omar or her late father provided false information about her birth year on immigration paperwork after the family fled Somalia in the 1990s, according to multiple reports. Homan said investigators had a “strong case” but declined to discuss specifics.
Omar has denied wrongdoing and accused President Trump of trying to “target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement” weeks before the November midterm elections.
