Prince Harry said he wants to reconcile with his father King Charles and his brother Prince William, telling GQ that mending the family rift matters more to him than anything else going on in the world.
Harry spoke to GQ in his first sit-down interview since returning to England this summer with Meghan Markle and their two children after six years in California. The interview was published Tuesday on GQ’s “One More Question” series.
“Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out,” Harry said. “With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile. That’s the key point.”

When asked if he grieved the relationship he once had with his brother and father, Harry answered: “Yes, of course.” He said the relationship remains “complicated and fractured,” adding that “scars stick around forever,” but he urged letting go of the past, noting “there’s enough drama in the world” without family conflict.
Harry also explained the family’s decision to move back to the UK. He cited opportunities for the family, British schooling for Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, and being close to his family again. He said the move was not planned for a long time but came together when “certain stars aligned.”
