Robert Pattinson has screen tested to play James Bond, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Friday. The 40-year-old actor joins a shortlist that already includes Callum Turner, Jack Lowden and Josh O’Connor.
The tests took place in London over the weekend of October 24, according to the report. Pattinson is filming The Batman Part II in the city, where the Bond tests have been held.

Nicholas Hoult has also tested for the role, the report said. Hoult played Lex Luthor in Superman, and he once competed with Pattinson for the Batman part.
Denis Villeneuve directs the 26th Bond film, with a script by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. It is the first Bond film made under Amazon MGM Studios, which took full creative control of the franchise from Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
Amazon MGM has not commented on the casting, and no decision has been announced. Reports say the role is expected to be cast before the end of the year, with production due to begin in 2027.
