A jury at Southwark Crown Court in London found Russell Brand guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault on Thursday. The actor and comedian, 51, was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Monday, 9 November.
The jury cleared him of two further counts of rape and one count of attempted indecent assault after deliberating for around eight and a half hours, according to reports from the court. Brand denied all seven charges, which related to six women and incidents between 1999 and 2009.

The rape conviction involved a 21-year-old fan Brand met after a stand-up show at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2009. The sexual assault convictions covered three incidents: groping an MTV worker at a party in a Soho bar in 2004, kissing and groping a radio worker at her workplace in 2005, and sexually assaulting a Channel 4 worker during a forced massage in 2009.
Judge Joel Bennathan told Brand he faces a significant custodial term. The Metropolitan Police said the convictions followed a major investigation, and inquiries into allegations made by two more women remain ongoing.
