President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to its lowest mark ever in a Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll, with only 33 percent of U.S. adults approving of his performance, according to the survey released October 18.
Two-thirds of respondents said they disapprove of Trump, and 52 percent said they strongly disapprove. The 33 percent figure is four points below his April and July readings in the same survey.

The poll surveyed 2,545 adults between October 9 and 13. A separate Fox News poll released October 14 also recorded Trump’s lowest-ever rating on that network, at 36 percent.
For the first time since 2014, voters in Post-ABC polling said they trust Democrats more than Republicans to handle the economy, at 40 to 33 percent. On the generic House ballot, Democrats led by eight points among registered voters, up from three points in July.
About three in four Americans said they disapprove of Trump’s handling of the cost of living and inflation. Seventy-two percent said the country is heading in the wrong direction. The midterm elections take place on November 3.
