Julia Stiles and professional partner Ezra Sosa were eliminated from Dancing With the Stars on Monday night, during the show’s Disney Night episode. The pair finished eighth in season 35 after judges’ scores and viewer votes were combined.
The episode, moved up a night because of Election Day, carried a Disney on Broadway theme. The eight remaining couples performed routines drawn from Disney stage productions, with Tony winner Cynthia Erivo joining Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli as guest judge.
Stiles and Sosa danced a paso doble to “Satisfied” from Hamilton, scoring 33 out of 40. Their team dance added 36 points, giving them a combined judges’ total of 69. Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas were the other couple left awaiting results at the end of the night, though Higgins survived despite finishing bottom of the judges’ leaderboard on 68.
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson tied with Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy for the night’s highest individual score, both earning perfect 40s. Shum and Johnson took immunity from next week’s dance-off because their cumulative season score of 236 points edges Dewan and Chmerkovskiy’s 235.
Seven couples remain in the contest for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. Next week brings Grammy Night.
