My Chemical Romance has its first Billboard 200 No. 1 album, 20 years after “The Black Parade” first came out. The album jumped from No. 139 to No. 1 on the chart dated 7 November, driven by its 20th anniversary deluxe reissue.
Billboard reported the reissue earned 78,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the tracking week ending 29 October, according to Luminate. Pure album sales accounted for 68,000 of that total, a rise of 2,082 percent on the previous week.

The original album debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2006, and it stayed the band’s highest-charting album until this week. The 20th anniversary edition was released on 23 October with six bonus songs, including the previously unreleased “Someone Out There Loves You”.
The climb sets a record for the longest wait for an album to reach No. 1, Billboard reported. It passes the 15-year, nine-month gap set by Toby Keith’s “35 Biggest Hits”. The 139 to 1 jump is also the largest climb to the top since Taylor Swift’s “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” in 2021.
