Heidi Klum arrived at her 25th annual Halloween party in New York on October 31 dressed as a giant severed hand. The costume, modelled on her own left hand, hid her almost entirely, with only her eyes and mouth showing.
According to the Associated Press, the hand came complete with long red nails, a thumb ring, her engagement ring and wedding band, and a gory wrist wound with dangling tendons. Klum said the idea came to her last year. She told reporters on the carpet, “My left hand inspired me.”

She arrived at Cathédrale restaurant at Moxy East Village in a truck covered in red “DANGER” signs, helped out by actors in yellow hazmat suits. The costume was built with longtime collaborator Mike Marino, the special effects makeup artist behind many of her past transformations.
Getting into the costume took about five to six hours, Klum said, though making it took far longer. Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, did not attend this year because he was on tour, but the costume carried nods to him: a tattoo of his name on the ring finger, along with her palm lines and veins.
Klum has hosted the party for 25 years, and her reveals have become a Halloween fixture. Past costumes include a worm in 2022, Medusa, a peacock, an 8-foot Transformer and a werewolf from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video. This year she captioned her reveal on Instagram: “TALK TO THE HAND.”
