No Kings Rallies Across US Push Voters to Cast Ballots Early Ahead of Midterms

1 min read

The “No Kings” network held a nationwide day of action on Saturday, with rallies in cities and communities across the US urging voters to cast ballots early ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. Organizers billed the events as nonpartisan, though they build on nearly two years of marches and demonstrations by people upset with the Trump presidency, according to the Associated Press.

Several hundred people gathered near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, dancing to a live band in chilly weather and holding signs reading “VOTE EARLY” and “HANDS OFF MY VOTE!” the AP reported. Organizers pivoted to a “hyper-local” strategy this time, planning some 2,500 smaller events around the country, according to The Times, with the goal of helping voters plan how and when to vote rather than holding traditional protest marches.

In Phoenix, demonstrators walked to the Maricopa County tabulation and election center to drop off completed ballots, while in Michigan one event took on a Halloween theme, The Times reported. The coalition behind the rallies includes groups such as Indivisible, MoveOn and the League of Women Voters. Previous No Kings demonstrations at their peak drew millions of participants, according to organizers.

With roughly two and a half weeks until Election Day, the coalition is telling supporters to vote at early voting sites or return absentee ballots now rather than waiting. Election Day for the 2026 midterms is Tuesday, November 3.
